Recently we’ve tried a few different angel-themed crafts. Each one has its own charm, but these coffee filter angels are especially fast and low-mess — ideal when time is tight or you want a stress-free activity with kids.

To make your coffee filter angel ornament:
You can begin with either the angel’s dress or the wings — both are quick to make. Below are simple, clear steps so even young children can follow along with a little adult help.
Making the angel’s dress
Fold a coffee filter in half (or slightly less than half) to shape the dress. For a fuller skirt, layer two or more folded filters on top of each other. Adjust how deeply you fold the edges to create a gentle neckline just a little wider than the popsicle stick.
Secure the folded coffee filters to the popsicle stick with white glue. Hold briefly until the glue grabs, or use a dot of hot glue on the back for a faster bond (adult supervision recommended).
Making your coffee filter wings
Fold a coffee filter in half and pinch the center to form wings. Wrap a metallic pipe cleaner around the pinched section to hold the shape; leave a short tail on the pipe cleaner so you have something to glue to the popsicle stick.
Attach the wings to the back of the popsicle stick with hot glue, positioning them so the skirt slightly overlaps the lower edge of the wings for a neat finish.
Make your halo
Bend a short length of metallic pipe cleaner into a small circle for the halo. Glue it just above where you plan to draw the face, leaving enough room to add eyes, a smile, and rosy cheeks. A small dot of hot glue behind the stick holds the halo securely in place.
Make your angel’s face
Draw a simple face using permanent markers: two small dots for eyes, a curved line for a smile, and soft pink or peach circles for cheeks. Keep the features small and sweet to match the tiny scale of the ornament.
Finish by gluing a short loop of thread or cord to the back of the stick for hanging. Embellish the dress with sequins or craft gems for sparkle, and add any extra trim you like. These angels look lovely clustered on a tree, strung as a garland, or used as gift tags.
