Product description
This adjustable dog car barrier is designed to create a safe boundary between the cargo or rear seat area and the front cabin in SUVs and crossovers. The kit includes the main two-panel barrier, adjustable nylon straps for headrest attachment, and Velcro edge strips to set the panel width.
Construction combines durable polyester mesh for visibility and airflow with a clear PVC window in the center that unzips. The frame is flexible to allow a snug fit; seams and fastening points are reinforced to withstand pressure from active dogs.
The barrier’s width can be tightened or widened using Velcro tabs along the side panels so it can span compact crossovers up to many full-size SUVs. It can be mounted across the cargo opening behind the rear seats or installed behind the front seats to act as a back-seat divider in combination with a dog bed.
To install, loop the adjustable straps over the headrest posts or anchor points, pull the panel into place, and secure the Velcro edges to achieve the desired tension. The central zipper opens a clear window so you can hand your dog treats, water, or pet them without leaving the driver’s seat when parked.
Before using, follow the printed instructions and images included with the barrier to ensure straps and Velcro are correctly fastened for a secure installation. Proper fitting helps keep dogs contained and reduces distraction while driving.
Pros
- Zippered clear window for easy access
- Velcro-adjustable width to fit many SUVs
- Durable mesh construction with reinforced seams
Cons
- Installation can be awkward for one person
- May wiggle slightly under heavy pressure
- Widest setting might not cover very large cargo openings
VerdictA practical, flexible barrier for keeping dogs confined to the rear of SUVs or behind the front seats. The clear center window unzips for easy access and the Velcro-adjustable width helps the panel conform to different vehicle openings. Installation can be fiddly for one person, but once secured the barrier holds steady for medium and large dogs. Ideal if you want visibility and the ability to pet

Never received the barrier
A shipping mix-up meant I got something else instead of the barrier. From the photos it seems well made and user-friendly, but I can’t comment on actual use since it never arrived.

Keeps my Rottie from jumping forward
I installed this in my Honda CR-V and it stopped my Rottweiler from leaping into the front. She can still see us through the mesh and I feel much safer driving now.

Tall enough for a big jumper
My Great Pyrenees finally stays in the back. I fitted it behind the front seats of a 2024 Mach‑E. The instructions are illustrated but a bit awkward; holding panels and threading straps solo was tricky. Once set, the Velcro holds the center taut and it keeps him contained, though it moves a little under force.

Zippered opening is handy on stops
The center panel unzips so I can hand out water or treats at rest stops without climbing into the back. The opening is large enough to pet comfortably.

Great fit for a small crossover
In my compact crossover the tighter Velcro setting covers the cargo width. My 35‑lb dog can’t squeeze through the sides and the zipper opening still functions normally.

Works well as a rear-seat divider
Placed behind the front seats with a dog bed on top, my beagle has room to stretch but can’t climb to the footwell or front seats. It preserves most of my rear visibility.

No more surprise lap dog on winding roads
On curvy mountain routes my lab used to climb forward. This barrier keeps him in the trunk area so I can focus on driving. The material feels sturdy enough for a 60‑pound dog.
