Product description
Original studio-grade construction and lifetime promise: This model is the classic Manduka PRO mat, engineered for years of daily practice and relied on by many teachers. It ships as the mat alone (no carrier unless specified elsewhere) and is made to withstand frequent rolling and use without losing shape.
Dense 6mm cushioning and closed-cell surface: The mat uses an ultra-dense PVC formulation that provides substantial joint protection while maintaining a firm platform for standing poses. The closed-cell finish prevents sweat, oils, and bacteria from sinking into the material, so the surface wipes clean rather than trapping moisture.
Anti-slip base and floor grip: The underside features a patterned, non-skid texture designed to anchor the mat to hard floors, preventing sliding during transitions. The top surface offers a subtle fabric-like feel to help maintain contact with hands and feet during practice.
Dimensions and weight options: The standard size measures about 71 x 26 inches and weighs roughly 7.5 pounds, with other lengths and widths available for taller or broader practitioners who want extra space. Because of the density, it is considerably heavier than thin travel mats but is still portable to the studio if you carry it.
Materials, safety, and care: Manufactured without emissions in a German facility from OEKO-TEX certified PVC, this mat is latex-free. To maintain the surface, use the manufacturer-recommended mat wash or a gentle wipe-down; harsh cleaners are not advised. Rolling and storing per care instructions keeps the mat flat and functional for years.
Pros
- Durable, long-lasting construction
- Supportive 6mm cushioning for joints
- Closed-cell surface that wipes clean
Cons
- Heavier than thin travel mats
- Can be slightly slick when hands are very moist
- Attracts lint on lighter colors
VerdictThis is a studio-quality yoga mat built to last a lifetime of regular use. The dense 6mm padding gives supportive protection for knees and joints while remaining firm enough for balance work. Its closed-cell construction keeps sweat and dirt from penetrating the surface, making cleaning straightforward. The textured bottom reduces movement on hard surfaces, though the mat is heavier than typical e

Pricey but a longtime favorite
Thick, sturdy, and high-quality. It grips well even when I sweat and is easy to clean. Definitely the nicest mat I’ve owned and I expect to use it for many years.

Noticeable improvement over my old mat
I owned a rubber mat for two decades, but this model impressed me—no lingering odor, great grip once broken in, and the 6mm thickness helps my knees and lower back. It’s dense rather than spongy, rolls up neatly, and the color I chose looks very nice. I also bought a simple strap to carry it.

Durable, comfortable, and long-lasting
Approaching six years of ownership and it still performs like new. I used it intensively, sometimes twice a day, and it held up. Important tips: roll it carefully, and treat the surface with salt and sun if it feels slippery at first. Heavy to carry, but much more comfortable on the knees than thinner mats. I’ll buy a second to gift to my mom.

Simple and reliable
Excellent mat. Thick enough that I don’t need a separate knee pad and it performs well during regular classes.

Stable, comfortable, and worth the investment
Very stable and comfortable underfoot. It’s on the expensive side, but if you practice often and want longevity, this mat justifies the purchase.

Comfort improves after a short break-in
Recommended to me by two experienced teachers, I chose the 6mm for extra knee padding and width. It felt a bit stiff at first, but after a few sessions it softened to a comfortable, supportive surface. It’s heavier than lighter mats but still manageable to bring to class. Very happy with the durability and cushion.

Eco-conscious and spacious option
I chose this mat partly because of the OEKO-TEX certification and low-emission manufacturing. The extra-long version (79 inches) gives plenty of room for taller practitioners and expansive movement. The build quality and environmental considerations made it a strong choice for my daily practice.

I use it every day
I love this yoga mat and use it daily. After almost two years it still looks and functions like new.

VG 4/5
Supportive for studio classes, not ideal for sweaty sessions
Pros: Firm yet cushioned; protects knees; grips the floor and stays in place; longer and wider than my old mat; lifetime warranty. Cons: Can get slippery if hands are moist; heavier to carry; light colors show lint; recommended rolling method is a minor hassle. Overall very reliable.

Worth upgrading from cheap mats
I started by using gym mats, then bought inexpensive options that were thin and slippery. Stacking two cheap mats helped cushion my knees but made standing balance unstable. After switching to this thicker studio mat, my hands no longer slipped and my practice feels steadier. It’s a pricey upgrade, but the difference is clear.

Perfect size and feel for everyday practice
I appreciate the generous surface area—no more hanging off the edge. The density provides cushion without undermining balance, and it stays put during standing poses. The charcoal shade is neutral and unobtrusive, and overall the mat feels very well made.

Professional upgrade after teacher training
After using several mats and a towel-on-mat combo for hot classes, I bought this as a graduation gift to myself. It offers a denser, more stable platform than cheaper foam mats and holds up well over time. The improved stability helped refine my poses during teacher training.
