Product description

What’s included
This kit contains 30 mini pu-erh cakes, organized as ten distinct flavored varieties with three cakes per flavor. Each pellet weighs about 4–5 grams. The collection arrives in a reusable handwoven carry bag produced by artisans from Yunnan’s ethnic communities — a decorative and functional container for storage or gifting.
Tea leaf origin and processing
The cakes are pressed from Yunnan big-leaf (Zhong Sai Qing Mao) tea. The assortment mixes raw (sheng) and ripe (shou) styles, with harvested and processed material aged roughly between 2011 and 2015 to lend mellow, layered character to the cups.
Flavoring and quality control
Flavors include scented and infused options such as chrysanthemum, rose, jasmine, orange peel, glutinous rice, ginseng herbal, and lavender among others. Production aims to preserve authentic notes without introducing stale, moldy, or fishy faults, resulting in clear aromatic and taste profiles for most samples.
Brewing and use
Each mini cake is portioned for one brewing session; simply place the cake in a gaiwan, small teapot, or infuser, rinse quickly with hot water, then steep to taste. Many cakes withstand multiple infusions before waning, and they are ideal for tasting sessions, travel, or sharing.
Storage guidance
Keep the cakes in a cool, dry, well‑ventilated spot away from strong light and odors; refrigeration is unnecessary. The woven bag can be used to keep the set organized and serves as a lasting keepsake beyond the tea itself.

Pros

  • Wide range of ten flavors in a compact sampler
  • Authentic Yunnan big‑leaf raw and ripe teas
  • Comes with a reusable handwoven storage bag

Cons

  • Some raw cakes can be too astringent or need more aging
  • Occasional overlap between similar flavors
  • Identifying flavors by wrapper can be confusing

VerdictThis assortment is a convenient way to sample a range of pu-erh profiles without committing to large bricks. The set contains both raw and ripe mini cakes made from Yunnan big‑leaf leaves and shows careful processing — most flavors are clean and true to their labels. Portions are sized for a single infusion session, making them useful for travel, work, or learning different pu‑erh styles. Some raw

  1. John 5/5

    Surprisingly high quality

These include some truly lovely pu-erh examples and a nice array to choose from. The assortment helped me learn more about different types, and I appreciated the craftsmanship. Good value and very enjoyable.

    Great sampler for a beginner

I’m new to Chinese tea and wanted an affordable way to sample profiles. The pellets unfurl into full leaves after a rinse and release scent on the first infusion. I typically get around eight or nine brews before the cup weakens. The glutinous rice cakes have been my favorite — rich and rice-like, similar to some Japanese teas; I’m glad there are multiple of those. The raw pu-erh felt very grassy and sharply astringent; I may try lower heat. The rose smelled lovely but the taste was overwhelmingly floral for my palate.

  3. Jakki P. 5/5

    Well-made and very convenient

I drink a lot of tea and use gaiwans daily, so these single-portion tuocha are perfect to bring to work. They’re extremely convenient. The lavender one stood out for me — its aroma and flavor are wonderful, and I’ve tried to find that specific flavor on its own. Each variety in this pack is true to its name and properly processed — no off notes like mold or fishiness. A thoughtfully assembled sampler that’s enjoyable and handy.

    Cute, strong little cakes

I’ve purchased this set more than once. The package looks nice and many flavors are tasty — chrysanthemum and rice are my favorites. Most cakes brew like an earthy, less-bitter black tea base, while the raw ones behave more like green tea. Some flavors overlap, but that’s acceptable. You get 30 cakes and often can steep the same leaves two or three times. Don’t forget to rinse them first or the first cup can taste odd.

    Totally worth getting

If you’re on the fence, go ahead and try it. I was skeptical about inexpensive mini tuocha, but these surprised me. The herbal infusions are subtle rather than overpowering, and I adore the ripe pu-erh aroma and taste after a hearty meal. My main gripe is with the raw cakes: two seemed stored damp and not sufficiently aged, giving a funky mushroomy or metallic edge. They should mellow with time, though. I enjoyed them enough to order another set.

    Rekindled my interest in pu-erh

Working through the different flavors has been fun. Some are very subtle, some assertive. My main frustration is matching flavors to wrappers — making a key helped a bit but wasn’t perfect. Despite that, the set brought me back to drinking pu-erh regularly, which is great.

    Plenty of flavors to explore

There’s a wide selection packed in here. Some varieties are pleasing, others a bit weak. Overall I’m satisfied, though the overall quality doesn’t match some higher-tier teas I’ve tried.
