Construction and materials: Each desiccant packet is made from Verna-brand non-woven fabric and sealed on three sides to create a durable, breathable pouch. The fabric offers good air permeability while keeping the silica beads contained and limiting dust transfer. The package includes a small clear viewing window so you can see bead condition without opening the pouch.

Silica beads and safety: Inside each pouch are white silica gel beads that are physically and chemically stable. The beads are cobalt chloride‑free, free of DMF, non-toxic and non-hazardous; they do not burn or corrode nearby materials under normal use.

Effective but patience needed to recharge

Used in my safe to protect documents. The fabric is sturdy and the window makes saturation obvious. Microwave recharging works but needs low power and longer cycles to avoid very hot spots—recharging is a bit tedious but otherwise fine.

Ordered 10g, 20g and 50g packs; they work well. Note that packets aren’t individually labeled, so keep the outer packaging to tell sizes apart. Smaller sealed groups would be handy to preserve unused packs’ freshness.
