Product description

This kit contains forty green plant clips in two sizes, designed for routine support and training of stems and vines. Each clip uses a spring-steel core for a secure, non-rusting hold and is finished with weather-resistant material so the clips can be used outdoors season after season. The pack is reusable and built for simple one-handed operation.

The clips open and close with a pinch of the handles, letting you trap a plant stem against a cane, metal or bamboo stake, garden cage, hoop, trellis, fence or any upright support in one motion. That single-handed action keeps your other hand free to guide the stem or insert the support, speeding up pruning and staking chores.

Two sizes cover delicate shoots as well as thicker canes and younger limbs. Use the smaller clips for tender stems and the larger ones for sturdier vines and branches. They’re suitable for directing plants toward light, keeping fruit-laden limbs from sagging, or training climbing crops to grow up supports.

Common uses include supporting tomatoes, beans, cucumbers, zucchini, eggplant, melons, squash, peas, pumpkins and peppers, as well as ornamental climbers such as honeysuckle, clematis, climbing roses, morning glories, jasmine and bougainvillea. They’re also useful for cuttings, seedlings, container plants, houseplants and vines like grapes.

The clips hold stems gently to avoid crushing or hindering growth while protecting plants from wind or the strain of heavy fruit. Because they’re reusable and weatherproof, they can be moved and reused through the season; however, very heavy branches or long-term direct sun exposure can reduce lifespan of the outer material, so periodic inspection is recommended.

Pros

  • One-handed pinch operation for quick use
  • Reusable, weatherproof and non-rusting spring core
  • Two sizes fit both delicate shoots and thicker stems

Cons

  • Large clips may not open wide enough for some trellises
  • Plastic casing can degrade after extended sun exposure
  • Not intended for very heavy, woody branches

VerdictThese spring-action plant clips offer a fast, reusable way to fasten stems to supports without tying or knotting. The set contains two clip sizes that cover most garden needs — from fragile seedlings to heavier vines — and their spring-steel design resists rust and allows single-handed application. They work well for tomatoes, cucurbits, peas, ornamental climbers and many container or in-ground pl

Customer reviews

  1. Lala Mitchell 5/5

    So useful I reordered twice

Sturdy, simple to use and ideal for several plant types in my garden. They did exactly what I needed and I bought more.

  2. Henry 5/5

    Solved my stray vine problem

I needed a quick way to secure wandering tomato vines. These were easy to apply and worked as expected.

  3. LoveMyBooks 5/5

    Handy for vegetable beds

Useful and robust enough for seasonal vegetable gardening. I plan to reuse them every year.

  4. Suzi Sharam 4/5

    Reliable seasonal hold

They held well through a season or two, mainly used on my tomatoes. Decent performance for the price.

  5. Charles Cajka 3/5

Large size doesn’t open as wide as expected

The small clips are fine, but the large ones are bendy and don’t open much farther than the small size, so they won’t fit some trellis bars.

  6. Tina Bishop 5/5

    Strong for vining crops

Ideal for cucumbers, loofah and various squashes. They helped train plants up trellises and were easy to move—bought a second set.

  7. jessica 5/5

Great for indoor and outdoor stems

Perfect for tacking wayward tomato branches to frames and supporting long indoor plants. The springs open smoothly and the stem sits in the clip without being damaged.

  8. Maryann Clark and Ron Newman 4/5

    Good convenience but mixed durability

Handy for grapevines and heavy growth — they hold big stems well at first. After a season in strong sun some units began to fail, so I keep buying them because of the ease of use even though longevity can vary.

  9. Yves Léonard 5/5

    Easy to use and effective

Simple product that makes staking several plant types much easier. Works as intended.

  10. CRISTINA 5/5

    Great for covering plant fabric

I ordered them to hold plant covers in place — they work well and eliminate the need for string or clips.

  11. Judy L. 5/5

Far easier than tying stems by hand

I grow full-size tomatoes indoors and have tried stakes and twist ties for years. These clips let me support branching stems without constantly cutting and re-tying ties. They speed up training, make adjusting growth simpler, and reduce damage from fiddly fastenings.

  12. Supergran 5/5

    Unexpectedly handy during lockdown

These were a life-saver for supporting tomato and cucumber plants in my greenhouse. Much easier to reposition than ties and they’re quick to use.
