Product description

This emergency kit centers on a timothy-hay based recovery formula packaged in single-use, stay-fresh sachets intended for assisted feeding of guinea pigs. The mix is formulated without grains or soy, focusing on fiber-forward ingredients suitable for species that require high-quality hay.

The kit contains 15 sealed packets of the main recovery food, each weighing 10 grams, plus 3 separate 10-gram sachets of an appetite-restore powder designed to be mixed in when a pet is particularly reluctant to eat. A feeding syringe is included so you can deliver measured amounts directly and safely during short-term care.

Use the powdered recovery food with warm water to create a smooth slurry for syringe or spoon feeding; incorporate the appetite-restore packets when you need to encourage intake. Individual packaging reduces waste and helps keep portions fresh until needed, making the set practical for emergency kits and post-operative recovery routines.

Pros

  • Timothy-hay based formula with no grain or soy
  • Individual stay-fresh packets to limit waste
  • Includes a feeding syringe and appetite powder

Cons

  • Limited number of appetite-boost packets
  • Single-use portions may be small for frequent use
  • Not a long-term complete diet replacement

VerdictThis kit delivers a palatable, timothy-hay based recovery formula in individually sealed portions alongside a feeding syringe and appetite booster. It’s grain- and soy-free, easy to store, and convenient for assisted feeding during illness or post-surgery recovery. Ideal to keep on hand for occasional syringe-feeding needs or when a picky pig refuses regular rations.

Customer reviews

  1. Marion Dickson 5/5

Great ingredients and my pig actually ate it

I had a very ill guinea pig who needed syringe feeding. Earlier formulas were refused, but this timothy-based mix was eagerly accepted and he started gaining weight. The lack of soy and wheat was important for us. I also used the appetite restore packets when he was too unwell to want food and it helped him eat.

  2. Ella 5/5

Helped my pig gain weight before surgery

My pig had a complicated urinary problem and needed to be hand-fed every few hours before surgery. This product had no wheat and when I added the appetite booster he ate reliably. He put on weight and recovered enough for the procedure. I’m very grateful for this formula.

  3. Barr22 5/5

    Helped my pig regain weight

This kit restored my guinea pig’s appetite and helped her put weight back on. She ate it willingly, which relieved a lot of stress, and I’ll keep more on hand for future emergencies. Individual packets are convenient and reduce waste.

  4. Trinidad Centeno 5/5

Essential to have on hand for overnight emergencies

This kit literally saved my pig’s life during a weekend illness when vets were closed. My pig accepted it and stayed regular with stools while on meds. The single-serve packs are smart and the texture can be thinned for syringe use. I keep one at home at all times now.

Relied on this repeatedly during emergencies

I turned to this while other care formulas were unavailable. It’s not as finely powdered as some emergency feeds, nor does it have strong added flavors, which I liked because I could mix in fresh purée when appropriate. It worked well as a supplement and for urgent assisted feeding when one of my older pigs suddenly declined.

  6. Samantha Vo 5/5

Well thought-out kit with handy portions

I appreciate the single-serving packs that avoid premature spoilage. The syringe, scoop, and separate appetite mix make it simple to prepare and encourage eating. Highly recommended to keep for emergencies.

  7. TerriReads 4/5

    Piggies accepted it

Both of my guinea pigs took to the food without fuss. The kit includes plenty of portions and is useful to have ready for sudden illness.

  8. Chasity green 5/5

More nutrition than other emergency mixes I tried

The package contains a generous amount and my pig likes it. During a bout of bloat and weight loss this product helped increase stool output and stabilize his weight. I prefer this formula’s nutrition profile over other emergency mixes I’ve used.
