Product description
High-resolution capture capability: This adapter records video up to 2K at 30Hz. While it accepts 4K@30Hz signals, it does not encode to 4K — instead it passes the 4K input through for local viewing while handling captures at lower resolutions. That makes it suitable for gamers and creators seeking sharp recordings without requiring 4K capture performance.
4K input with loop-out: The unit supports 4K@30Hz input and provides an HDMI loop-out for immediate, zero-latency preview on a monitor or TV. An internal processing chipset manages high-bandwidth video and multichannel audio, enabling simultaneous recording and local monitoring. Note: PlayStation systems will require HDCP to be disabled to use the feed.
Dual USB interface and formats: The device exposes USB 3.0 Type-C and Type-A connections for low-latency capture to modern PCs and laptops. It supports common UVC-compliant formats such as MJPEG and YUY2 so you can choose compressed or higher-fidelity streams. Mobile phones that don’t implement UVC (for example iPhones) cannot function as video sources for this device.
Build and operation: The capture unit is housed in an aluminium shell that helps with durability and passive heat dissipation during extended sessions. It’s compact and pocket-friendly for easy transport. For most modern systems it’s plug-and-play with no external power needed; older Windows 7 setups will require USB 3.0 drivers to be installed.
Compatibility and use cases: Works across Windows, macOS, Linux and Android and is compatible with software like OBS, XSplit and Potplayer. It’s suitable for capturing gameplay or camera feeds from Nintendo Switch (and Switch 2), PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X, Meta Quest 3/2 and similar devices, sending the feed to PCs, laptops or tablets. This product is not compatible with Fire TV Stick.

VerdictThis UGREEN capture card is a practical, budget-friendly option for streamers and content creators who need up to 2K@30fps captures with a 4K input passthrough. The loop-out provides zero-latency local preview and the dual USB-A/C ports enable straightforward connections to desktops and laptops. Solid performer
Does the job well. Higher-end options exist, but this unit performs reliably.
-
Rowan 3/5
Audio setup was tricky
Works overall but required extra software (Voicemeeter Banana) for headphone monitoring; OBS monitoring didn’t work and audio felt choppy, possibly due to the software.

Simple and effective — performs as expected.
-
Justyna Konsek 4/5
Functional
Does what it’s supposed to. Image loses a bit of quality and latency could be lower.
-
PeterElliott 4/5
Basic but functional
A simple capture card. Setup can be awkward but it works as long as the feed isn’t HDCP protected.

Strong value for a budget upgrade
A clear step up from very cheap dongles. Low latency lets me play through the preview, and captures have no audio whining. Color may need calibration.

Reliable 1080p capture
No drivers needed and audio device appears in OBS or Windows. 1080p output looked clean with minimal compression; it needs device power to show a signal if the PC won’t supply it.

Solid device that also works with VLC Media Player.
-
Sam 4/5
Great entry-level capture
Excellent starter card that records up to 2K. Still dialing in OBS settings, but audio and functionality are good.
