Product description

This hatchery kit includes a clear plastic lid and a molded egg tray designed for small reptile eggs. The components are made from food‑grade plastic that does not off‑gas harmful chemicals and is simple to wipe clean.

The tray is divided to keep clutches separate and can accommodate up to 14 eggs. Individual egg slots measure about 1.57 × 0.8 inches (L × W), while the overall unit dimensions are roughly 7 × 5.1 × 2 inches (L × W × H). The insert provides eight regions to help segregate different clutches or genetics within the same box.

The transparent lid gives a high level of visibility so you can monitor developmental changes without opening the box frequently. The shallow wells accept a variety of incubation substrates — vermiculite, perlite, peat, or commercial mixes — depending on your preferences and protocol. Because the tray is removable, it’s easy to change substrate, clean between clutches, and inspect eggs.

Constructed from durable plastic, the unit is lightweight and resistant to breakage for routine use. It’s intended for incubating smaller reptile eggs such as those from geckos, small lizards and similar species. For keepers who need deeper substrate or advanced humidity management, this is a compact option best suited to small clutches and species with modest depth requirements.

Pros

  • Clear lid for continuous observation
  • Food‑grade, durable plastic construction
  • Holds up to 14 small eggs with divided sections

Cons

  • Shallow depth limits substrate volume
  • Not ideal for very large eggs
  • Limited humidity control without modifications

VerdictA lightweight, practical hatchery solution for owners of geckos, small lizards and similar species. It offers a clear lid for observation, food‑grade construction and room for 14 eggs in separated slots. Works well for many small clutches, though users who require deeper substrate or heavy humidity control may prefer a larger tub.

Customer reviews

  1. Pete 1/5

Disappointing shallow design and humidity issues

Not impressed. The tray sits low so you can’t pack much substrate without eggs contacting the bottom. I did a test with infertile eggs and they molded in under a week even after airing them out. In the end I drilled two vents trying to reduce humidity problems; a deeper container would have been better.

  2. Soo G. 5/5

Great fit for hognose clutches — holds 14 eggs

Works really well for hognose eggs and other similarly sized clutches. Won’t handle unusually large eggs, but otherwise a compact, affordable tray that holds 14.

  3. Sharon 5/5

Fits Leachianus eggs when other trays failed

Tried several other brands before this one — the wells are deep enough to accept larger eggs and accommodate different sizes.

  4. Kimberly 2/5

    Fails to maintain moisture reliably

The unit looks well made but it doesn’t hold humidity well—eggs dried unless I misted the vermiculite constantly. Good build but if you need steady moisture it’s unreliable.

  5. Erin 5/5

Simple to use — successful hatches

Easy setup and operation; all my eggs hatched without hassle.

  6. Brooklyn Lewis 1/5

    Didn’t save my clutch

My lizard eggs did not survive in this tray. I might have had the same result with a simple plastic tub; it didn’t provide the conditions I needed.

  7. Shelly Kress 5/5

    Seals very well

    Seal is excellent.
