Product description

What’s included: a single 8 fl oz spray bottle of TropiClean OxyMed Hot Spot Treatment formulated for dogs and cats.

Active approach: The formula contains alpha-hydroxy (AHA) and beta-hydroxy (BHA) components designed to penetrate the pores, help exfoliate dead skin, and soothe itching. It’s intended to reduce the discomfort associated with localized irritation.

Restore and protect: This topical spray is created to help calm redness and swelling and can also aid in managing flakiness and dandruff on canine and feline skin when used as directed. It’s positioned as a spot-treatment to assist the skin’s recovery.

How to use: The product is applied directly to affected areas — no rinsing required. Spray the targeted spot and gently work the formula into the coat and skin with your fingers if needed. Reapply as recommended or consult your veterinarian for persistent conditions.

Manufacture and pairing: Made in the USA and often recommended by vets, the OxyMed line emphasizes milder ingredients without harsh chemicals. For more comprehensive care, the spray is intended to be used alongside other Oxymed solutions such as medicated wipes, a gentle ear wash, paw pad lotion, and a complementary shampoo and conditioner.

Pros

  • Fast-acting spot relief
  • No-rinse spray, simple to apply
  • Made in the USA and vet recommended

Cons

  • May require frequent reapplication
  • Some pets dislike the scent or spray form
  • Occasional residue or pump issues reported

VerdictA convenient, vet-recommended 8 fl oz spray that provides rapid, short-term relief for localized hot spots and irritated skin. It’s easy to apply, doesn’t require rinsing, and pairs well with other Oxymed items, but you may need repeat applications and some pets react to the scent or spray form.

    Helped with itching and healing

This spray eased my dog’s itching and promoted healing. I suspect flea-related irritation from digging, and this made a noticeable difference.

  2. Patty Dycus 5/5

    Stopped the scratching

My pets are much calmer and the scratching has decreased significantly after using this.

  3. Joy 5/5

Works well for my nervous dogs

I’ve tried many hot spot products; this one calms my skittish Maltipoo and my easygoing Shih Tzu. There’s little to no scent, which helps with sensitive noses. I started by dabbing it on and now spray directly. Nighttime ear-scratching stopped. It isn’t a permanent cure — touch-ups are needed — but for the cost it’s impressively effective and I keep buying it.

  4. Katie_Lynne 5/5

Also works on my own dry skin

I don’t need it often for my dogs, but I’ve used a little on my own dry, itchy patches with good results. The scent is mild and fades quickly.

  5. RT 5/5

    Soothes mild itching quickly

I’ve repurchased it because it offers quick relief for our slightly itchy dog and the pump is quiet. It isn’t a cure for chronic conditions, but it does soothe. It even cooled a recent insect bite on my ankle.

    Senior dog loved the sensation

Bought for my cat’s flaky skin, not sure it helped her much. However, an anxious senior dog I worked with adored the feel of the spray and seemed much more comfortable.

  7. Krista 4/5

Bottle form and odor upset my cat

The spray format and the smell made it impossible to get near my cat. After holding the bottle the odor lingered on my hands and scared her off.

  8. Tj 3/5

    Left a white residue

It’s effective and affordable, but it left a white spot on my dog’s coat. The smell was okay though.

  9. Francesca 5/5

Most effective I’ve tried so far

My small Chihuahua itches constantly; this stopped the scratching for several hours. I apply to my hand first since she dislikes direct spraying. Hands get a bit sticky, but I’d recommend it for persistent itchers.

  10. Julia 3/5

    Sprayer stopped working

After a few days the spray pump failed, which made treating my cat difficult when she tried to bolt. The product itself seemed fine, but the dispenser was faulty.

  11. Andreia 1/5

    Did not help my puppies

My puppies were still itching after use, so this spray didn’t work for our situation.

  12. MLFR 5/5

    Works well for dermatitis relief

Helps my dog with dermatitis and eases her itching for a while. It’s only temporary relief, not a cure.

  13. IG 5/5

    Puppy approved, pleasant scent

This worked well on my puppy and the scent was agreeable to us both.
