Product description

The reel is fitted with a 45 ft power cable constructed from 12 AWG, 3-conductor SJTOW jacketed wire, and it carries a 15A/125V/1875W rating. A short 4.5 ft lead-in cord feeds the reel from your outlet. The assembly features a lighted triple-tap with three grounded sockets and a built-in 15 amp circuit breaker for overload protection. The unit is UL listed and finished in a high-visibility orange.

The housing is a heavy-duty polymer shell that contains the spring-driven retracting drum and the 12AWG copper conductors. The cord jacket is SJTOW-style for outdoor-friendly flexibility and abrasion resistance. Mounting provisions are provided for wall or ceiling installation; typical hardware supplied or noted by users includes wood screws and hollow sleeve anchors for masonry.

Installation places the reel in garages, workshops, studios and warehouses where longer runs are needed without a tangle of cable on the floor. The reel rotates to align with the pull direction, has an adjustable stop to set payout length, and keeps tools and extension cords off the ground for easier, safer use. Note that the unit is fairly heavy and can be awkward to position alone when mounting overhead.

Pros

  • Long 45 ft reach with heavy 12AWG conductors
  • Three grounded outlets with lighted triple-tap and breaker
  • Keeps cords off the floor and retracts smoothly

Cons

  • Bulky and somewhat heavy to mount
  • Occasional uneven winding or side-roll
  • A few reports of electrical failures over time

VerdictThis retractable reel delivers long reach and robust conductors suitable for medium-duty shop and garage use. It offers three grounded outlets on a lighted triple tap, a 15A trip protector, and a heavy-gauge 12AWG cord for power-hungry tools. The housing and retraction work well for keeping cords tidy, though the unit is on the bulky side and a minority of users have reported reliability issues af

Customer reviews

  1. Turbo 1/5

    Stopped working and overheated

Bought one to replace an older reel; when I went to use it there was no power at the outlets despite the wall outlet reading 120VAC. As I pulled out about half the cable the insulation became extremely hot, so I unplugged immediately. Looks like an internal break or short. Very disappointed—would choose a more durable unit next time.

  2. A mister z 5/5

    Smooth and sturdy operation

The cord reels in smoothly and the housing feels solidly made.

  3. Widphoto 4/5

    Works well, slightly oversized

Solid performer and reliable in use. It’s a bit larger than I imagined but functions without issue.

  4. Kindle Customer 5/5

    Feels well built

Simple to install and so far the retract mechanism works fine. It helps keep cables up and out of the way.

  5. Praedo 5/5

Plenty of reach for garage tasks

Forty-five feet covers my garage and part of the driveway. The cord pulls out and retracts as expected, and the reel turns to line up with the way I’m pulling. Sometimes the cable winds to one side and I have to pull a bit and let it retract again, but that’s not a deal breaker. Makes plugging in tools much easier—worth considering.

  6. Peter 5/5

    Mounting is easy but heavy

Easy to fasten to any surface, though the unit is heavy and tricky to lift overhead alone. I adjusted the stop so it feeds more cable and stays high enough from the floor. Would recommend with a helper for ceiling installs.

  7. aremdee 5/5

    Great for workshop tool use

I swapped an older heavy cord in a floor sleeve for this wall-mounted reel to run a table saw and router. Needed 12 AWG and this delivers. Rugged, dependable, and it arrived with hollow sleeve anchors for masonry and wood screws. Very satisfied.
