Product description

This kit includes twenty horizontal side-mount poultry nipple drinkers intended for mounting to buckets, barrels or other water containers. Each nipple body is molded from rigid, UV-resistant plastic to withstand outdoor exposure without cracking or degrading quickly.

The drinking mechanism features a long lever made from 304 stainless steel so birds can peck and release water easily; the metal lever helps them learn to access water reliably. The design dispenses water from a single fixed outlet while the main supply remains stored in the container, which limits contamination from bedding or droppings.

Installation is simple: drill appropriately sized holes in the side of a bucket or barrel, insert the nipples, and secure them so the outlet sits horizontally for pecking. The set is suitable for chickens, ducks, quail and other small poultry and lets you fill the reservoir in one go, reducing how often you have to top up the supply.

Pros

  • Durable UV-resistant plastic construction
  • 304 stainless steel lever for easy pecking
  • Reduces water waste and keeps reservoir cleaner

Cons

  • Some pieces can leak if not fitted correctly
  • Requires correct hole size and secure fastening
  • Occasional missing small hardware in packs

VerdictThis 20-piece horizontal nipple system offers a durable, low-waste way to provide water to small poultry flocks. The hard plastic bodies resist sunlight, and the stainless steel internal levers are easy for birds to operate. Proper hole size and secure fitting are important — a minority may leak or arrive with missing small parts — but when installed correctly the set greatly reduces wasted water

Customer reviews

  1. Thaily Rubio 1/5

    Missing nut and wrong fit

No backing nut included to secure from the rear and the ones I received were too large to use — ended up unusable.

  2. Duby Book 3/5

    Several leaked after installation

Installed per instructions but experienced multiple leaks.

  3. Hannah 5/5

Far easier and tougher than cups

Simple to use and much more robust than cup-style drinkers — the hens can’t snap these off.

  4. Bill Cross 4/5

    Did not function for me

These units didn’t work in my setup.

  5. Lisa 5/5

    Chickens accepted them immediately

We changed our watering approach and the flock adapted instantly — they love them.

  6. Corbett B. Coburn III 5/5

    Stops water waste once fitted

I used to fill water every day because of losses. After finding the right drill bit these fitted easily. The chickens investigated the levers and then drank correctly. Now I only top up twice a week — well worth the effort.

  7. Marvin Spittle 5/5

    Generally reliable; one defective piece

I’ve used these repeatedly and they’ve performed well. One pack had a red plastic piece with no stainless internals. Local brand nipples I tried before tended to leak; these have mostly been leak-free so I keep reordering them.

  8. tom 5/5

    Low-maintenance barrel system

Drilled holes and mounted six on a 30-gallon barrel to create a watering system that only needs attention every couple of weeks. They work well and the birds learned quickly.
