Product description
This listing is for a single extra-extra-large restraining / killing processing cone intended for large poultry. The cone is formed from heavy-gauge galvanized steel and arrives as a finished unit ready to mount. It measures approximately 29 inches from top to bottom with a 16.25-inch opening at the top, sized to accommodate turkeys in the 25–50 lb range, extra-large geese, and comparable heavy fowl.
Edges at both the top and bottom are hemmed to reduce sharpness and protect handlers and birds. The cone’s back is flattened so it mounts flush against a surface; the flat back is designed to accept three mounting points to hold the cone securely rather than relying on a single middle fastener. That mounting arrangement helps stabilize the bird during restraint and bleeding.
The galvanized finish is chosen to resist corrosion and to simplify cleanup after processing. The cone is intended to restrain a bird by holding it inverted, allowing access for bleeding and evisceration while minimizing flapping and escape. It is sturdy in typical use and made with professional equipment for consistent sizing and fit across birds.
Installation is straightforward: fasten the cone via the three recommended points to a board, post, or other sturdy support. Many users secure the board to a tree or workbench and operate the station with two people—one to steady the bird and another to perform bleeding and processing. The design aims for long service life and reliable operation when treated and installed properly.
Pros
- Large opening and length fit big turkeys and geese
- Hemmed edges and galvanized steel for safer handling and easier cleaning
- Flat back with three mounting points for stable installation
Cons
- Some units show thin material or loose joints
- Large size can make reaching the head difficult solo
- May require extra fastening or hardware for long-term durability
VerdictA heavy-gauge, extra-large processing cone that does the job for big turkeys and geese. Its hemmed edges and flat back with three mounting points improve safety and stability. The size works well for birds in the 25–50 lb range, and the galvanized finish makes cleanup straightforward. Watch for uneven assembly on some units and the need for an assistant when handling very large, thrashing birds.

Acceptable but a bit flimsy
Big enough for turkeys, but the material feels on the thin side. A few turkeys managed to back out. I’d consider buying another if needed, though I picked this up because my preferred maker was unavailable.

Made turkey processing far simpler
We bought this oversized cone to handle our turkeys (21–28 lbs) and it fit them well. You do need to reach up inside to guide the head through, but once set the birds stayed put. We also tried it on 7–13 lb meat chickens with no escapes. The steel feels solid and it mounted easily. It was pricey compared with small cones I’ve seen, but for the size and strength it was worth it; I’d recommend it for anyone needing a larger cone.

Simple to mount and operate
Used it on a 20 lb bird — quick to hang and easy to clean. The cone helps keep wings from breaking and is light enough to move, making butchering larger birds much easier.

Great for a multi-bird processing day
We processed 17 turkeys (about 18–25 lbs) and the cone restrained them all effectively. The main challenge is getting the head through the bottom opening, but we managed every time. Two people at the station — one to bleed and one to hold the feet — made the workflow safe and efficient.

Handles turkeys reliably
The extra-extra-large size handled a variety of birds. I processed ten birds from about 6–12 lbs and used the same cone for all. I screwed it to plywood and strapped it to a tree. It’s wide and deep, so reaching the head is tricky alone; a helper to pull the head from underneath makes the job smooth. Held every bird securely with no escapes.

Poor construction; came apart
This cone could be useful, but the build quality was disappointing. The metal felt thin and the seams were crooked and prone to separating. I had to pry joints open, realign panels, tap them closed, and add a screw or rivet to keep it together. Quality control needs improvement.

Performs well for large birds
Worked perfectly on very large turkeys (25–30 lbs). Some reviewers suggest enlarging the bottom hole, but smaller is better for restraint. Using a rope around the neck to guide the head made loading easy. Cleanup was straightforward and I had no bruised carcasses.
